Job summary

SMEC invites a highly experienced Civil/Structural QA and Compliance professional to monitor and inspect civil construction activities across EPCC sites in Sabah. You will lead site inspections, ensure compliance with drawings, specs and standards, review ITPs, and coordinate with HQ Design Office.

Strong knowledge of quality control, reporting and NCR processes is essential. Ideal candidates possess a Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, registration with BEM, 8–10 years of relevant

Qualifications

• Minimum 8–10 years of experience in industrial civil and structural construction projects.
• Experience in gas engines, gas turbines, or thermal power plant EPCC projects is an added advantage.
• Ability to interpret civil drawings and technical specifications.
• Knowledge of civil construction quality control procedures and inspection requirements.
• Familiarity with international and local codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Review EPCC works to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications and standards.
• Verify materials and workmanship meet project requirements.
• Conduct site inspections, quality audits, and hold-point inspections per ITP.
• Witness material testing and document results.
• Raise NCRs and monitor corrective actions.
• Communicate with HQ Design Office on design matters.
• Lead for other disciplines at site office.
