Job summary

SANMINA-SCI SYSTEMS (MALAYSIA) SDN BHD in Penang is seeking an Industrial Engineer to eliminate waste, apply lean tools, and design efficient layouts in the EMS manufacturing environment.

You will analyze production methods, implement capacity planning, time studies, line balancing, and 6S; develop quality control, inventory and distribution systems; and set performance metrics to improve productivity.

Qualifications

• At least 2–4 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, EMS field or equivalent.
• Background in Industrial Engineering with capability in line balancing and capacity planning.
• Proficiency in time studies and layout design using CAD tools.

Responsibilities

• Eliminate or reduce waste in production and related processes using lean tools and six sigma.
• Choose machinery and arrange equipment for the most effective plant layout (lean).
• Develop methods for quality control, distribution and inventory systems.
• Define worker and device functions; implement evaluation procedures and improve efficiency.
• Assess potential harm in production; redesign or replace equipment as needed.
• Design production layouts with minimal movement and sustain 6S.
• Conduct time studies and drive productivity improvement; define monthly/quarterly capacity.

Job description

Eliminate or reduce waste in production and related processes (apply lean manufacturing tools and techniques, six sigma, etc.).

Choose machinery and other equipment and arrange these items in the most effective layout in the manufacturing plant (i.e., lean).

Develop methods that will be used to accomplish all of the tasks involved in production, including devising systems for quality control, distribution, and inventory.

Determine the functions and responsibilities of workers and devices and implement evaluation procedures; recommend methods for improving employee efficiency.

Evaluates potential for or actual physical harm throughout production processes; redesigns, relocates, or replaces equipment, as necessary.

Design production layout with minimum movement of WIP and workforce, caters for proper 6S at all times which is sustainable

Analysis time study and drive for productivity improvement.

Define capacity required on monthly and quarterly basis through equipment utilization measures

Job requirements:

At least 2to 4years of working related in engineering experience in manufacturing environment,with EMS fields or equivalent.
