Job summary

Sanmina-SCI Systems (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. (Technoplex Penang) is seeking an engineer to optimize PCBA processes and improve yields. You will apply Six Sigma, DFM, and failure analysis to advance manufacturing capabilities.

The role emphasizes new process development, fixture/automation enhancements, and smooth product introductions, with a focus on lean, data-driven problem solving in a busy EMS environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Manufacturing/ Industrial/ Mechanical/ Material Engineering with 2nd Class Upper or equivalent.
• Experience in Surface Mount Technology is advantageous.
• Knowledge in Material/ Metallurgy Failure Analysis (SEM, EDX etc) is advantageous.
• Knowledge in Statistical and Lean Six Sigma Methodology is advantageous.
• Knowledge in DFM with good understanding of PCB design guidelines is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for PCBA process and yield improvement; drive process control, failure analysis and problem solving involving PCB assembly and soldering materials.
• Drive process and equipment technology improvements using Six Sigma methodology to identify critical parameters, analyze gaps and develop new processes/equipment.
• Support scrap and waste elimination initiatives; drive fault-proof solutions involving fixtures design and automation to reduce human dependency and streamline process flow.
• Support new product introduction and transfer; use DFM tools to assess new products and ensure manufacturing guidelines are met for flawless launches.

Job description

Responsible for PCBA process and yield improvement. Drive process control, failure analysisand problem solving involving PCB assembly and soldering material.

Responsible for new process and equipment technology improvement. Utilize Six Sigmamethodology to identify critical parameter, analyze process gap and develop new process/equipment technology to leap frog the current manufacturing capability.

Support scrap and waste elimination initiative. Drive error-proof solutions involving fixturedesign and automation to reduce human dependency and streamline process flow.

Support new product introduction and transfer. Utilize DFM tools to assess new product andensure meeting manufacturing design guideline and best practices for flawless launch.

Job Requirement

Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s/ Master’s degree preferably in Manufacturing/ Industrial/Mechanical/ Material Engineering with 2nd Class Upper or equivalent.

Experience in Surface Mount Technology will be an advantage.

Knowledge in Material/ Metallurgy Failure Analysis (SEM, EDX etc) will be an advantage.

Knowledge in Statistical and Lean Six Sigma Methodology will be an advantage.

Knowledge in DFM with good understanding of PCB design guidelines will be an advantage.
