Job summary

Hilton Sabah is seeking a Hygiene Executive to develop and implement hygiene protocols across the hotel, ensuring all areas meet high cleanliness standards and comply with health and safety regulations.

You will lead the hygiene team, conduct inspections and audits, train staff, manage hygiene supply budgets, and drive continuous improvement to deliver safe, memorable guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field as listed.
• Certified in HACCP/ISO 22000/ServSafe or equivalent is a plus.
• 2–3 years of hygiene/food safety experience in hospitality, food service or manufacturing.
• Knowledge of Malaysia Food Act 1983, HACCP principles, and sanitation standards.
• Ability to conduct hygiene inspections, trainings, and audits while ensuring compliance.
• Strong communication, report writing and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in English; Bahasa Malaysia is an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Strategic Planning & Compliance: Develop hygiene policies and ensure adherence to health, safety, and regulatory standards.
• Team Leadership & Training: Lead the hygiene team and provide ongoing training to maintain performance and standards.
• Cleaning Expertise: Apply knowledge of cleaning procedures, chemicals, and equipment to ensure effective practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Environmental Health, Public Health, Microbiology, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
• Relevant professional certifications such as Food Handler Trainer Certification, HACCP, ISO 22000 Food Safety Management, ServSafe, or other recognized food safety and hygiene certifications will be an added advantage.
• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in hygiene, food safety, quality assurance, or environmental health, preferably within the hospitality, food service, or manufacturing industry.
• Practical knowledge of local food safety regulations, HACCP principles, sanitation standards, pest control management, Malaysia Food Act 1983, and hygiene auditing processes.
• Ability to conduct hygiene inspections, training sessions, and food safety audits while ensuring compliance with company standards and local regulatory requirements.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication, report writing, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language. Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia will be an added advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
