Job summary

BP plc in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a Controllership Lead to own the accurate, timely close, accounting and reporting for an assigned ST&S portfolio. You will coordinate monthly, quarterly and annual closes, ensure robust controls and deliverables, and partner with Risk, Commercial Finance and external auditors.

The role requires deep knowledge of financial accounting in trading environments, with emphasis on derivative accounting, fair value valuation and intercompany matters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
• Significant controllership, accounting, reporting or financial control experience.
• Deep knowledge of financial accounting, period-end close and internal controls in complex environments.
• Strong understanding of commodity trading/supply business and derivative accounting.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual close activities with complete, accurate reporting.
• Own controllership delivery including due diligence, intercompany matters and statutory support.
• Ensure controls are designed and operated across close, reporting, derivative accounting and valuation.
• Lead the implementation of new business activity and change with sustainable processes.
• Coordinate priorities across teams/locations and provide technical guidance.
