Job summary

BP plc in Kuala Lumpur seeks a Controllership Analyst to execute and support close, accounting and reporting within defined scope. You will work with the Controllership Lead to apply accounting requirements consistently, investigate movements, and resolve data/process issues while driving standardisation and improvements.

The role requires strong accounting knowledge, experience with close processes, and understanding of commodity/trading contexts.

Qualifications

• Strong practical knowledge of financial accounting, period-end close and reporting.
• Ability to apply policies and technical guidance to activities.
• Good understanding of commodity trading/finance context and intercompany activity.

Responsibilities

• Execute monthly, quarterly and annual close activities with accurate results.
• Support controllership tasks including reconciliations, journals and reporting.
• Identify control gaps and support remediation and governance across teams.
• Document requirements and assist testing for new business activities or changes.
• Investigate issues, identify root causes and propose practical actions.
• Contribute to standardisation and process improvements across finance.
