Job summary

Takeda is seeking an Assistant Controller for the South East Asia cluster based in Kuala Lumpur. You will link markets with Global Finance CoE accounting teams and manage controllership work for multiple entities.

Responsibilities include month-end close, balance sheet reviews, journal entries, IFRS and local GAAP reporting, audit coordination, and internal controls. The role requires IFRS knowledge, strong communication, and readiness to base in Kuala Lumpur.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field with 5+ years controllership/audit experience.
• IFRS and local GAAP review capability; able to challenge central financial data.
• Experience with multiple legal entities and month-end close processes.
• Experience with statutory reporting, audits, and management reporting.

Responsibilities

• Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end close across assigned entities.
• Prepare balance sheet review, journal entries, and reconcile items.
• Coordinate IFRS/local GAAP reporting and audits with external and internal teams.
• Maintain internal controls and documentation; ensure compliance with policies.
