Job summary

bp in Malaysia is seeking a Controllership Lead to own the accurate, timely close, accounting and reporting for a designated ST&S portfolio. You will drive technical accounting execution, hedge and derivative considerations, intercompany matters, and alignment between management and accounting.

You will collaborate with technical accounting, Commodity Risk and auditors. Lead monthly, quarterly and annual close activities, design and operate financial controls, and implement new business changes

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or equivalent professional experience.
• Professional accounting qualification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate monthly, quarterly and annual close activities, ensuring complete, accurate and timely financial results.
• Own controllership delivery for the assigned scope, including due diligence, management-to-accounting alignment, derivative accounting, and intercompany matters.
• Ensure financial controls are designed and operated across close, reporting and valuation processes; remediate gaps and escalate material risks.
• Lead the accounting implementation of new business activity and change, translating requirements into sustainable processes.
• Coordinate priorities across teams and locations, review outputs and provide technical guidance.
• Drive global consistency and continuous improvement by simplifying processes and fostering automation.
