Propel CMT Sdn Bhd seeks a skilled HVAC Technician to operate, maintain, inspect, repair and troubleshoot ACMV systems across commercial and industrial facilities. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, respond to client requests, and document service activities with accuracy.
The role requires 3–5 years in HVAC/building maintenance, ACCMV certificate, and a willingness to work shifts, including weekends and standby duties.
To operate, maintain, inspect, repair, and troubleshoot HVAC/ACMV systems and associated equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of building facilities. The HVAC Technician is responsible for carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance, responding to client complaints, maintaining equipment and service records, and ensuring compliance with safety standards, company procedures, and client requirements.
To be familiar with the ACMV System in the assigned building.
To perform servicing, repair and other maintenance works to the desired standard and quality.
To carry out first-line and subsequent operations and maintenance for any new modifications to the ACMV system.
To carry out housekeeping, cleaning and maintenance upon repair and replacement of defective components.
To carry out cleaning and upkeep of all ACMV equipment as and when required.
To perform all ACMV equipment repairs and maintain tools, parts, equipment and supplies in a clean and safe condition.
Carry out routine daily, weekly, monthly and various inspections, monitor system performance, and check, analyze, investigate and report all faults or breakdowns of the ACMV System to the respective superior.
To record service standards, performance standards or service indicators based on information on ACMV breakdowns and report to the respective Superior.
Perform daily inspections, record readings and conditions in the equipment log book.
To perform predictive maintenance activities and data collection, such as indoor air quality measurement, infrared thermographic inspection of control panels, pump shaft laser alignment, water balancing and water treatment, etc.
To stand by on site for any system testing, i.e. fire fan testing for fire certificate renewal, on-load generator set testing, etc., according to client instructions.
Responsible for attending to any complaint made by the client and closing the complaint.
Share on-call responsibilities with the maintenance team; respond to client service requests within 24 hours.
To understand and follow the Company's policies and procedures
Responsible for site office rules and regulations, including self-discipline in maintaining the housekeeping of working areas and maintenance areas.
To use or wear suitable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when on site.
Respond to the identification and correction of hazardous conditions.
Repair hazards and/or assign completion of these tasks to the maintenance team with management approval.
To maintain team/individual service documentation via Service Chit and other methods of documentation, i.e. photographs, computer records, etc.
Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
Must be willing to work in a multi-skilled team environment.
Must be flexible to be transferred from one team to another in order to accomplish all daily operation and maintenance tasks.
Attend daily morning briefings with the Propel Engineering team.
Assist new team members by providing one-on-one training to maintenance team members who may need to polish their current skills or learn new skills.
Attend or participate in training programmes conducted by the Company or Client as and when required.
Responsible for the operation, maintenance and security of all Company’s tools and equipment.
Assist with ordering supplies with approval from Management.
Work with the superior to determine supplies and equipment needs. Obtain approval from Management prior to placing orders for major expenditures and unbudgeted items.
All other duties as directed and instructed by Management from time to time.
Certificate, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, or related engineering field.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in HVAC and building maintenance.
Experience handling commercial buildings, industrial facilities, hospitals, data centres, or high-rise buildings is preferred.
ACMV Certificate.
Any HVAC-related certifications will be an added advantage.
Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and equipment.
Knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting.
Understanding of preventive and corrective maintenance practices.
Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS).
Knowledge of safety regulations and industry standards.
Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and under pressure.
Good communication and reporting skills.
Required to work shifts, weekends, public holidays, and standby duties when necessary.
Required to respond to emergency breakdowns outside normal working hours.
May be required to work at heights, confined spaces, and plant rooms following safety procedures.
