Job summary

Sunway Malls seeks a dedicated Maintenance Engineer to oversee repairs and preventive maintenance of building systems in Kuala Lumpur’s Mont Kiara and Cheras properties. You will read meters, conduct inspections, and support electrical contractors to ensure safety and cost efficiency.

You should have a mechanical/electrical engineering background, relevant certifications, and a readiness to work shifts. Training and safety compliance are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Minimum Certificate in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, SPM, or a recognized trade qualification.
• Experience in facility management is an added advantage.
• Possession of relevant technical competencies (AO Chargeman, Orang Bertanggungjawab, or other mechanical/electrical/building certifications) is an added advantage.
• Experience in electrical troubleshooting and wiring is preferred.
• Good technical, problem-solving, and preventive maintenance knowledge.
• Familiar with relevant building regulations, fire safety requirements, and local standards.
• Basic knowledge of information systems.
• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality.
• Team player with willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
• Willing to be based in Mont Kiara and Cheras, Kuala Lumpur.

Responsibilities

• Attends to repairs and maintenance of all systems and related equipment including but not limited to heating, ventilation and air-conditioning and building services.
• Carries out meter readings to maintain records for utility costs throughout the building, including those of tenants when required.
• Performs general and emergency repairs and maintenance to all plant and equipment within an acceptable timeframe.
• Conducts regular and documented inspections of plant and equipment as per the checklist and statutory requirements.
• Ensures Fire and Engineering safety features operate optimally, and familiarizes self with emergency procedures.
• To aware and assist management to minimize wastage and costs.
• Liaises with and supervises Property Maintenance Electrical Contractors on site.
• Ensures that all workshop tools and equipment are well stocked and maintained.
• Liaises with and supervises Property Maintenance Electrical Contractors on site.
• Ensures that all workshop tools and equipment are well stocked and maintained.
• Attends training courses and workshops, as well as engineering specific meetings when required.
