Job summary

Woh Hup Group is seeking an HR Business Partner to align people strategies with business objectives in a Malaysia-based role. You will work closely with business leaders to translate strategies into practical HR initiatives, support the employee lifecycle, and ensure HR policy compliance across units.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of HR experience (preferably in an HRBP/Generalist role) and strong communication, stakeholder management, and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's in HR/Business or related field.
• Professional HR certification (e.g. SHRM, CIPD, MIHRM) is an added advantage.
• Minimum 3 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in HRBP or HR Generalist role.
• Multinational environment experience is advantageous.
• Comfortable in a matrix organisation with multiple priorities.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
• Independent, proactive and self-driven with practical HR solution mindset.

The HR Business Partner (HRBP) partners closely with business leaders to align people strategies with business objectives. The role serves as a trusted advisor to management on all human resource matters while supporting the development of a high-performing, engaged and capable workforce.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with business leaders to understand business strategies, operational challenges and workforce needs, translating them into effective HR initiatives.
• Build strong relationships with leaders and employees, providing strategic and operational HR support across the employee lifecycle.
• Act as a trusted advisor on employee relations, performance management, talent development, workforce planning and organisational effectiveness.
• Develop a strong talent pipeline by driving recruitment, onboarding, succession planning and leadership development initiatives.
• Coordinate and facilitate key HR processes, including performance management, talent reviews, calibration sessions, salary review exercises and leadership assessments.
• Ensure consistent implementation of company HR policies, procedures and initiatives across the assigned business units.
• Support organisational changes by providing change management guidance and coaching to leaders and employees.
• Coach managers on leadership, employee engagement, performance management and people-related matters.
• Partner with the wider HR team to ensure timely and effective delivery of HR programmes and services.
• Monitor employee engagement and recommend initiatives to enhance organisational culture and employee experience.
• Ensure compliance with employment legislation, company policies and workplace safety requirements.

Requirements

• Recognised Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related discipline.
• Professional HR certification (e.g. SHRM, CIPD, MIHRM or equivalent) will be an added advantage.
• Minimum 3 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in an HR Business Partner or HR Generalist role.
• Experience in a multinational corporation (MNC) environment will be an added advantage.
• Comfortable working in a matrix organisation and able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels.
• Independent, proactive and self-driven, with the initiative to identify issues and implement practical HR solutions.
