WIKICAREER SDN. BHD. is seeking a commercially minded HR Business Partner to collaborate with business leaders, offering strategic HR advisory and hands-on people management support in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
The HRBP will partner with line managers to align people strategies with business goals, manage talent and workforce planning, drive performance, engagement and change initiatives, and ensure compliance with Malaysian employment laws.
We are looking for a commercially minded HR Business Partner to work alongside business leaders, providing strategic HR advisory and hands‑on people management support. The HRBP acts as a trusted partner to line managers — advising on talent, performance, organisational design, employee relations, and people strategy — while ensuring HR practices are aligned with business goals and employment legislation.
Key responsibilities
Partner with business unit heads and line managers to understand their people needs and develop targeted HR solutions that drive performance and engagement
Advise on organisational design, workforce planning, and restructuring initiatives; support managers through change management processes
Identify talent gaps and work with the recruitment team on hiring strategies and workforce succession planning
Analyse HR data and people metrics (attrition, headcount, engagement) and translate insights into actionable recommendations for the business
Guide managers in implementing the performance appraisal cycle, goal-setting frameworks, and development planning for their teams
Support the identification and development of high‑potential employees; partner with L&D to design relevant training and upskilling programmes
Coach line managers on effective feedback, performance improvement plans (PIPs), and handling underperformance
Drive employee engagement initiatives and assist in the planning and execution of engagement surveys and action plans
Serve as the first point of escalation for employee relations matters, including grievances, misconduct, and disciplinary proceedings; ensure processes are handled fairly, consistently, and in compliance with the Employment Act 1955
Advise managers on HR policies, entitlements, and employment legislation to minimise compliance risk
About you
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field
Minimum 4 to 7 years of HR experience, with at least 2 years in an HRBP, HR generalist, or HR advisory role
Proven experience handling employee relations cases and providing advisory support to business leaders
Strong knowledge of the Employment Act 1955, Industrial Relations Act, and other applicable Malaysian employment legislation
Excellent interpersonal, influencing, and communication skills; comfortable engaging stakeholders at all levels
Analytical and data‑driven with the ability to turn people data into actionable insights
Empathetic, objective, and highly discreet in handling sensitive employee matters
Self‑starter who thrives in ambiguity and is able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
Professional HR certification (e.g. SHRM‑CP, CIPD) is an advantage
Experience working in a fast‑paced or multi‑stakeholder environment is preferred
