We are looking for an experienced and business-oriented Senior Assistant Manager, HR Business Partner (HRBP) to join our Human Resources team.
The role will partner closely with business leaders, HR Centres of Excellence (COEs) and HR Operations to drive and deliver key HR priorities, strengthen core HR processes and support the implementation of key HR initiatives.
This role will help improve how HR operates by identifying process gaps, resolving operational bottlenecks and supporting HR transformation and change initiatives across the organisation. This role is suited for an HR professional who is hands-on, structured and comfortable navigating a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. HR Business Partnering
- Partner with business leaders to understand business priorities, workforce needs and people challenges.
- Provide practical HR advice and translate business needs into appropriate people solutions.
- Partner closely with HR COEs and HR Operations to drive and implement key HR priorities.
- Provide people insights and recommendations to support business and organisational effectiveness.
2. HR Process Architecture & Continuous Improvement
- Support the design, review and documentation of core HR processes, workflows, SOPs and guidelines.
- Identify process gaps, inefficiencies and opportunities to simplify and improve the employee and manager experience.
- Partner with HR Operations to resolve operational bottlenecks and elevate systemic issues where necessary.
- Drive continuous improvement and consistency in HR processes and ways of working.
3. HR Projects & Change Management
- Support the rollout of key HR initiatives, systems and digital solutions.
- Work with project teams and stakeholders to facilitate change management, communications, user readiness and adoption.
- Gather stakeholder feedback, identify implementation challenges and support post-implementation improvements.
4. Employee Relations & Employee Experience
- Advise managers on employee relations, performance, attendance and other people matters.
- Ensure HR policies and practices are applied fairly and consistently.
- Identify recurring employee or manager concerns and work with relevant HR teams to address underlying issues.
- Support initiatives that strengthen employee engagement, experience and retention.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology or a related discipline.
- 5–8 years of relevant HR experience, preferably in HR Business Partnering or a broad HR generalist role.
- Experience in retail, FMCG, hospitality or another fast-paced operational environment is an advantage.
- Good understanding of core HR processes, employee relations, performance and talent management.
- Experience in HR process improvement, process documentation or HR transformation projects is advantageous.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, facilitation and problem-solving skills.
- Good knowledge of Malaysian employment practices and labour legislation.
- Structured, proactive and hands-on, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and drive matters to completion.
