Assistant HR Manager role taking ownership of HR operations across 10 retail outlets. This is a hands-on role covering recruitment, employee relations, payroll & attendance, compliance, engagement, and retention. You will work closely with Store Managers and operations teams to support workforce needs and drive effective HR practices across the business.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee HR operations and employee relations across 10 retail outlets.
• Lead mass recruitment and onboarding for store-level positions.
• Manage and verify attendance, overtime, public holiday claims, and payroll-related matters.
• Ensure compliance with the Malaysian Employment Act and company HR policies.
• Handle employee grievances, disciplinary matters and domestic inquiries.
• Work with Store Managers on employee engagement, retention and performance.
• Conduct regular branch visits and provide hands-on HR support.
• Monitor HR trends and recommend improvements to support business needs.

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 5 years of HR experience, preferably in retail, supermarket, hypermarket, or other high-volume operations.
• Strong experience in mass recruitment and frontline workforce management.
• Good knowledge of the Malaysian Employment Act and employee relations.
• Strong communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Mandarin-speaking ability is an added advantage for communication with store-level employees and stakeholders.
• Possess your own transport and be willing to travel across assigned branches.
• Hands-on, resilient, and comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment.
