Job summary

Masimo Corporation in Kuala Lumpur seeks an HSE Coordinator to lead the Health, Safety, and Environment department, driving programs to ensure a safe and compliant workplace. You will help develop, implement, and monitor policies to meet regulatory requirements and company standards.

The role includes policy development, risk assessments, incident investigations, and regulatory reporting, with liaison to regulatory bodies and ongoing HSE system improvements.

Qualifications

• 3+ years HSE experience, preferably in manufacturing.

Job description

The HSE Coordinator will lead the Health, Safety, and Environment department in implementing and maintaining safety, health and environmental programs to ensure a safe, compliant, and environmental compliance workplace. The role involves assisting in the development, implementation, and monitoring of policies, procedures, and training programs to meet regulatory requirements and company standards.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Development, implementation, and enforcement of safety, health and environmental policies, procedures.
• Conduct Workplace Inspection and HSE Committee meeting with HSE Committee.
• Investigating accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and implement preventive measures.
• Maintain supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies,

placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.

• Development and delivery of safety training programs for employees and contractors.
• Conducting risk assessments and job hazard analyses.
• Responsible for managing waste disposal activities in accordance with legal requirements such as scheduled wastes disposal
• Prepare and maintain HSE regulatory reports and records.
• Development and implement emergency response and crisis management activities.
• Provide other administrative support as required to ensure the effective operations of the department. Advise management on legal requirements related to Safety & Health and Environment.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure compliance with HSE legislation. Ensure implementation and continuous improvement in overall HSE System.

Minimum & Preferred Qualifications and Experience:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in HSE is a plus.
• Minium 3 years of HSE working experience preferably in manufacturing industry.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good knowledge of related laws and regulatory requirements such as the OSH Act and Environmental Act
• Safety and health officer certification is required. Possess green book will be an added advantage.

Physical requirements/Work Environment

This position primarily works in an office and manufacturing/production environment. It requires frequent sitting, standing, and walking. Daily use of a computer and other computing and digital devices is required. May stand for extended periods when facilitating meetings or walking in the facilities. Some local travel is necessary, so the ability to operate a motor vehicle and maintain a valid Driver’s license is required.
