Job summary

The Pavilion Kuala Lumpur is seeking an experienced Assistant Manager, Human Resources to support full HR functions in a fast-paced retail environment. You will oversee staffing, induction, payroll, benefits, and HRIS processes, ensuring compliance with the Malaysian Employment Act and local laws, while fostering a positive workplace culture.

Collaborate with line managers on recruitment, training, and employee relations, maintaining accurate records and contributing to ongoing HR improvements.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Human Resources Management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant HR working experience.
• Strong knowledge of the Malaysian Employment Act, local labour laws, and industrial relations procedures.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Proven experience implementing HR systems and operational procedures.
• Strong hands-on experience across full-cycle recruitment.
• Independent problem-solver with discretion on confidential matters.
• Well-organized with time-management and multitasking in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Support HR planning and staffing across the full HR function.
• Manage full-cycle staffing from recruitment to onboarding.
• Conduct induction and orientation for new employees.
• Ensure HR policies are communicated and inquiries answered promptly.
• Advise management on employee relations issues and disciplinary matters.
• Plan and organise employee engagement activities.
• Coordinate training needs with Line Managers and providers.
• Maintain up-to-date training records and HRIS data.
• Oversee performance management processes.
• Process payroll monthly and manage benefits programs.
• Maintain employee records and statutory reporting.
• Assist with workforce statistics for audits and compliance.
