Job summary

Ombak Kitchen is hiring for HR Assistant / HR Executive / Senior HR Executive to support daily HR operations across our outlets in Malaysia, including recruitment, onboarding, payroll support, attendance and HR records.

Salary ranges RM3,500–RM4,500 per month depending on experience. Diploma or degree in HR or Business Administration is required, with 1–2 years for HR Assistant, 2–4 years for HR Executive, or 4+ years for Senior HR Executive.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in HR, business administration or related field.
• 1–2 years for HR Assistant; 2–4 years for HR Executive; 4+ years for Senior HR Executive.
• Knowledge of Malaysian Employment Act 1955.
• Experience in recruitment, payroll and HR administration.

Responsibilities

• Support daily HR operations across our outlets.
• Coordinate end-to-end recruitment, including job postings, screening, interviews and onboarding.
• Maintain accurate employee records, attendance, leave and HR documentation.
• Assist with payroll processing, overtime, claims and statutory contributions.
• Monitor attendance and coordinate with outlet managers.
• Handle employee relations and confidential matters.
• Assist with disciplinary matters and HR compliance.
• Prepare HR letters, reports and memos; support HR audits.
• Collaborate with management on staffing needs.

The position offered will be based on your experience, qualifications and ability to manage the responsibilities of the role.

YOUR ROLE

• Support daily HR operations, administration and employee enquiries across our outlets.
• Coordinate end-to-end recruitment, including job postings, screening, interviews, selection and onboarding.
• Maintain accurate employee records, attendance, leave records and HR documentation.
• Support monthly payroll processing, including overtime, claims and statutory contributions.
• Monitor attendance matters and coordinate follow-up with outlet managers.
• Handle employee relations and workplace concerns professionally and confidentially.
• Assist with disciplinary matters, including warning letters, show-cause letters and supporting records.
• Support the implementation of company policies and compliance with applicable Malaysian employment laws and statutory requirements.
• Prepare HR letters, reports and memos, and support HR audits.
• Work closely with outlet managers and management on staffing needs and HR matters.

For Senior HR Executive: You will also oversee daily HR operations, guide junior team members and advise management on employee relations, disciplinary matters and HR compliance.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• Diploma or Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
• HR Assistant: 1–2 years.
• HR Executive: 2–4 years.
• Senior HR Executive: 4+ years, with the ability to manage HR operations independently.
• Working knowledge of Malaysian employment laws, including the Employment Act 1955.
• Experience in recruitment, payroll, employee relations and HR administration, appropriate to the position applied for.
• Familiarity with HRMS or payroll systems.
• Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritise tasks, work independently and handle confidential information with discretion.
• Experience in F&B, hospitality or multi-outlet operations is an advantage.
