Job summary

Meili Resort Hotel Sdn Bhd is seeking a diligent kitchen steward to clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, and kitchenware, and to maintain overall cleanliness in the kitchen and dishwashing areas in Semporna, Sabah.

The role requires physical stamina, ability to work in a fast-paced hotel environment, and willingness to relocate if not already based in Semporna. Basic English and Bahasa Malaysia communication is needed, with Mandarin as an advantage.

Qualifications

• Previous hotel or resort experience is preferred.
• Experience in dishwashing, kitchen cleaning, or stewarding operations is an advantage.
• Able to operate commercial dishwashing machines is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of safe handling and usage of cleaning chemicals.
• Understand and follow kitchen health, hygiene, and sanitation procedures.

Responsibilities

• Wash and sanitize all dishes, utensils, and kitchenware by hand or with dishwashing machines.
• Mop floors, wipe counters, and clean kitchen surfaces; empty rubbish bins regularly.
• Store clean dishes and equipment in designated areas; assist with deliveries.
• Assist chefs and kitchen staff with basic duties; help with event setup and teardown.
• Perform general and deep cleaning of kitchen areas and ensure hygienic standards are met.
