Job summary

Meili Resort Hotel Sdn Bhd in Semporna, Sabah is hiring a Housekeeping Team Leader to oversee daily housekeeping operations. You will lead, supervise and schedule room attendants and public areas staff, ensuring cleanliness and adherence to SOPs and service standards.

The role requires strong leadership, teamwork and communication skills, with at least 2 years in hotel housekeeping; Bahasa Malaysia and English proficiency, Mandarin an advantage. Based in Semporna with rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• Minimum SPM qualification; Diploma in Hospitality Management is an advantage.
• Minimum 2 years of working experience in housekeeping, hotel or resort.
• Experience leading or supervising a housekeeping team preferred.
• Knowledge of housekeeping operations, room cleaning and hotel cleanliness standards.
• Strong leadership, teamwork and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, supervise and coordinate daily housekeeping activities.
• Assign daily cleaning duties and work schedules to staff.
• Monitor and inspect guest rooms, public areas and washrooms for cleanliness.
• Ensure tasks follow SOPs and service standards.
• Conduct regular room inspections and ensure readiness for check-in.
• Supervise cleaning activities and the use of cleaning chemicals/equipment safely.
• Coordinate with Laundry and Store departments for linen and supplies.
• Report maintenance defects and room-related concerns to Engineering.
• Coordinate with Front Office on room status and guest requests.
• Handle guest requests, complaints and housekeeping issues promptly.
• Conduct daily briefings and guide staff on priorities.
• Train and coach new employees on procedures and standards.
• Monitor attendance, grooming and performance; report concerns.
• Ensure proper lost and found procedures and documentation.
• Prepare daily housekeeping reports and inspection records.
• Identify improvements to boost efficiency and service quality.
• Ensure proper handling and storage of equipment and tools.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
