Job summary

Kum Fatt Engineering Sdn Bhd (KFESB) seeks a Health & Safety Officer / Site Safety Supervisor to liaise with authorities, manage HS reporting, and drive safety initiatives across projects. • Diploma or degree in Safety or Health required.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in related fields.
• Ability to lead a team and work under pressure.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 & ISO 45001 is an added advantage.
• Strong communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with DOSH/CIDB/DOE and other authorities on safety matters.
• Prepare and submit HS reports to Top Management, including monthly safety reports.
• Collect, analyse and maintain records of workplace incidents and statistics.
• Organise safety awareness programmes, training and employee engagement activities.
• Support the Safety & Health Committee in planning and monitoring programmes across the workplace.
• Plan, coordinate and conduct training on workplace safety, fire prevention and emergency response.
• Provide advice to Management on applicable safety laws and compliance requirements.
• Establish and implement new safety procedures and control measures to minimise hazards.
• Assist with workers’ compensation processes and insurance coordination.
• Ensure ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 systems are implemented and improved.

(HOD) Health & Safety

Subordinate
Health & Safety Officer, Site Safety Supervisor

Liaise and coordinate with relevant government authorities, including DOSH, CIDB, DOE, and other regulatory bodies on matters related to occupational safety, health and environmental compliance.

Prepare and submit HS reports to Top Management, including Monthly HS Reports, accident reports, near miss reports and other safety-related reports.

Collect, analyse and maintain records and statistics of workplace accidents, dangerous occurrences, occupational poisoning and occupational diseases for monitoring and reporting purposes.

Promote a positive safety and health culture by organising safety awareness programmes, campaigns, training and employee engagement activities.

Support Management and the Safety & Health Committee in planning, implementing and monitoring occupational safety and health programmes across the workplace.

Monitor workplace inspections and audits together with the Safety & Health Committee to evaluate the effectiveness of existing compliance, safety measures and recommend improvements where necessary.

Plan, coordinate and conduct training programmes on workplace safety practices, fire prevention, emergency preparedness and proper work handling techniques.

Monitor, evaluate and prepare reports on the overall safety performance of project sites and recommend continuous improvement initiatives.

Provide advice to Management on applicable occupational safety and health legislation, regulations and compliance requirements.

Establish and recommend new safety procedures, initiatives and control measures to minimise workplace hazards arising from work activities, processes or newly identified risks.

Support administration of workers’ compensation cases and coordinate with insurance providers to ensure timely claim management and minimise work absence.

Ensure the Company’s ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 Management Systems are effectively implemented, maintained and continuously improved throughout the organisation.

Report to Top Management on the effectiveness and performance of the QMS and OHSMS, including recommendations for continual improvement.

Authority : To liaise with DOSH/NIOSH/CIDB relevant authorities and clients on matters related to Health & Safety.

Academic Qualification : Diploma / Degree in Safety or Health or equivalent.

Skills & Experience :

• Minimum 5 years experience in relevant fields.
• Self-motivated and a team player.
• Good communication & correspondence skills.
• Must be able to lead a team and work under pressure.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Leadership style and interpersonal skills suitable for directing, training and motivating subordinate staff.
• Able to work independently without close supervision.
