Job summary

PeopleLAKE Group in Malaysia seeks a Head of Training and Talent Development to shape the organisation’s Talent Management, Performance Management, Succession Planning, and Capability Development agenda. The role collaborates with C-Suite and senior leaders to drive leadership, competency, and learning initiatives, ensuring a sustainable talent pipeline and business-aligned development programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, Psychology, Organisational Development, or related disciplines.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant hands-on experience in Talent Management, Learning & Development, Organisation Development, or related HR functions.
• Strong experience in designing and implementing Talent, Learning & Development frameworks.
• Proven experience in Performance Management, Succession Planning, Competency Management, and Talent Development.
• Strong people leadership and team management skills.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to quickly understand business models and organisational needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the organisation’s performance management framework.
• Ensure consistent implementation of performance management practices across the organisation.
• Review and improve performance management processes to support a high-performance culture.
• Advise management on performance and talent-related matters.
• Manage the organisation’s promotion and career progression policy.
• Ensure promotion decisions are fair, consistent, and aligned with performance, capability, and business needs.
• Regularly review and improve career progression policies and processes.
• Identify and assess high-potential employees and successors for key positions.
• Build a strong and sustainable talent pipeline for critical roles.
• Develop talent through training, exposure, job rotation, and experiential learning.
• Monitor succession planning progress and talent readiness.
• Oversee leadership, behavioural, technical, functional, and personal effectiveness competencies.
• Lead development programmes for high-potential and succession talent.
• Identify capability gaps and implement appropriate development solutions.
• Ensure learning and development programmes support business and organisational objectives.
• Evaluate the effectiveness and impact of development programmes.
• Promote a culture of continuous learning and career development.
• Partner closely with C-Suite, Heads of Departments, and senior management on talent and development matters.
• Understand business priorities and translate them into effective people development strategies.
• Lead, coach, and develop the Development / Talent Management team.
• Drive cross-functional collaboration and successful implementation of talent initiatives.
