Job summary

Vit Makanan (KL) Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an Operations & Maintenance Manager to lead reliability, maintenance and continuous improvement at our food manufacturing facility.

You will ensure equipment and facilities are safe, compliant and available while driving improvements in automation, energy efficiency, productivity and waste reduction. This hands-on leadership role requires moving confidently between production, maintenance planning, suppliers and audit teams.

Qualifications

• Experience with preventive maintenance, breakdown troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
• Strong leadership and communication skills with production teams, suppliers and auditors.
• Knowledge of HACCP, Halal and workplace safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Build and execute preventive and corrective maintenance plans for production machinery, utilities and facilities.
• Lead response to equipment breakdowns and coordinate emergency repairs with minimal disruption to production.
• Improve equipment uptime, maintenance effectiveness, spare-parts control and maintenance cost.
• Lead automation, energy-saving, process-improvement and waste-reduction projects.
• Manage maintenance suppliers, outsourced contractors and service providers, including scope, quality, safety and cost.
• Lead and develop the maintenance team through clear priorities, coaching and performance standards.
• Maintain clean, orderly and safe work areas and ensure work is completed in line with applicable safety requirements.
• Partner with Production, Quality, Warehouse and EHS teams to prevent recurring failures and improve overall factory performance.

Operations & Maintenance Manager — Food Manufacturing

We are looking for an Operations & Maintenance Manager to lead the reliability, maintenance and continuous improvement agenda for our food manufacturing facility. You will keep production equipment and facilities safe, compliant and available while leading improvements in automation, energy efficiency, productivity and waste reduction. This is a hands‑on leadership role for someone who can move confidently between the production floor, maintenance planning, suppliers, contractors and audit teams.

Key responsibilities

Build and execute preventive and corrective maintenance plans for production machinery, utilities and facilities

Lead the response to equipment breakdowns and coordinate emergency repairs with minimal disruption to production

Improve equipment uptime, maintenance effectiveness, spare‑parts control and maintenance cost

Lead automation, energy‑saving, process‑improvement and waste‑reduction projects

Manage maintenance suppliers, outsourced contractors and service providers, including scope, quality, safety and cost

Lead and develop the maintenance team through clear priorities, coaching and performance standards

Maintain clean, orderly and safe work areas and ensure work is completed in line with applicable safety requirements

Partner with Production, Quality, Warehouse and EHS teams to prevent recurring failures and improve overall factory performance

Support internal and external audits and maintain readiness for HACCP, FSSC 22000, Halal, JKKP/DOSH, BOMBA and other applicable requirements

Promote 5S and basic equipment‑care practices, including clean, inspect, lubricate and tighten routines where applicable

About you

Degree or diploma in Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline

At least 5–8 years of experience in factory engineering, maintenance or plant operations, including 2–3 years leading a team

Experience with preventive maintenance, breakdown troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis and contractor management

Experience in a food, FMCG, packaging or other regulated manufacturing environment

Working knowledge of HACCP, Halal and workplace safety requirements

Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with production teams, suppliers, contractors and auditors

Good analytical, planning and problem‑solving skills

Willingness to work shifts, support peak‑season operations and participate in an agreed on‑call rotation
