Job summary

SOLS Energy Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a strategic Head of HR to steer direction, standards and accountability across the HR function in Malaysia. You will coach HR leaders, govern payroll and statutory compliance, and drive manpower planning, onboarding and performance processes across multiple brands.

You will partner with the CEO and leadership to manage risk, develop growth plans and ensure compliant, data-driven HR operations aligned with our mission to build a sustainable energy workforce.

Qualifications

• Degree in Human Resource Management, Business, Psychology, Law or a related field (or equivalent proven experience).
• Minimum 10 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3 years leading an HR team end-to-end.
• Strong working knowledge of Malaysian employment law and statutory requirements: Employment Act 1955 (as amended), Industrial Relations Act 1967, EPF, SOCSO, EIS, PCB/MTD, HRD Corp.
• Experience handling discipline, domestic inquiries, terminations and employee relations cases with full documentation.
• Hands-on payroll oversight and statutory submission experience.

Responsibilities

• Set direction, priorities and standards for HR outcomes and own the HR agenda.
• Maintain HR Department identity and routines within the Business Identity Framework.
• Coach and develop HR team across brands and manage capacity.
• Represent HR in leadership forums and brief the CEO with structured updates.
• Oversee records, attendance, payroll and statutory compliance across SOLS entities.
• Oversee manpower planning, recruitment, onboarding and time-to-fill targets for 20+ roles at peak.
• Lead performance management cycles, PDS reviews and career progression plans.
• Manage discipline and employee relations with proper documentation and prompt closure of cases.
• Advise directors on people risks and run regular people risk reviews and pulse checks.
• Drive HR data, reporting, and insights to improve processes and decisions.
• Oversee contract lifecycle, offboarding and exits with compliant processes.
