Job summary

Tap Growth ai in Gurun, Kedah, Malaysia, is seeking an experienced Head of Facilities Maintenance to lead all aspects of plant upkeep and utilities. You will develop preventive and predictive maintenance, manage budgets, and ensure regulatory compliance across DOSH, BOMBA, DOE and energy services.

You will supervise a facilities team, coordinate with Manufacturing, Quality and Safety, and drive continuous improvement for reliability, energy efficiency, and cost optimization in a manufacturing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical/electrical/building services or related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of facilities maintenance management experience in a manufacturing setting.
• Proven leadership skills with experience managing teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all facilities maintenance activities to ensure reliability and operational efficiency of plant infrastructure and utilities.
• Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies to maximize uptime.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements (DOSH, BOMBA, DOE, Suruhanjaya Tenaga, etc.).
• Manage plant utilities including electrical systems, HVAC, compressed air, water, wastewater, fire protection, and building services.
• Plan, monitor, and control departmental budgets and capital expenditure projects while identifying cost optimization opportunities.
• Lead facility improvement projects, renovations, and new installations to support expansion and operations.
• Coordinate with external contractors, service providers and vendors to ensure quality, safety, and timely delivery.
• Drive continuous improvement to enhance energy efficiency, reliability, and overall performance.
• Establish maintenance KPIs, monitor trends, and implement corrective actions.

We are seeking an experienced Head of Facilities Maintenance to lead and manage all aspects of facility upkeep at our client's manufacturing facility located in Gurun, Kedah. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in developing maintenance strategies, driving operational excellence, optimizing costs, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting uninterrupted manufacturing operations.

What You'll Do:

• Lead and manage all facilities maintenance activities to ensure the reliability, availability, and operational efficiency of plant infrastructure and utilities.
• Develop and implement preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies to maximize equipment and facility uptime.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable statutory, environmental, safety, and regulatory requirements, including DOSH, BOMBA, DOE, Suruhanjaya Tenaga and other relevant authorities.
• Manage plant utilities including electrical systems, HVAC, compressed air, water supply, wastewater treatment, fire protection systems, and building services.
• Plan, monitor, and control departmental budgets, maintenance costs, and capital expenditure projects while identifying cost optimization opportunities.
• Lead facility improvement projects, renovations, infrastructure upgrades, and new installation activities to support plant expansion and operational requirements.
• Manage external contractors, service providers, and vendors to ensure quality, safety, regulatory compliance, and timely project delivery.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve facility reliability, energy efficiency, sustainability, and operational performance.
• Establish maintenance KPIs, monitor performance, analyze trends, and implement corrective actions to improve operational effectiveness.
• Develop and mentor the Facilities Maintenance team through performance management, succession planning, technical competency development, and leadership coaching.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, Logistics, Engineering, HR, Finance, Procurement, and Safety departments to support uninterrupted plant operations.
• Develop emergency response and business continuity plans related to facilities, utilities, and critical infrastructure.

What We're Looking For:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, Civil Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years experience in facilities maintenance management preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven leadership skills in managing teams.
• Experience managing utilities, infrastructure, building services, contractors, and capital projects.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities.
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian statutory and regulatory requirements related to facilities and occupational safety.
• Commercial acumen with ability to drive growth and solve complex operational issues.
• Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement.
• Effective communication and organizational skills.

Salary package: RM16,000.00 plus attractive benefits. 5 working days.
