Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a Maintenance Manager to oversee maintenance operations across Subang and Kajang factories, ensuring machinery, utilities and facilities operate safely and efficiently.

You will strengthen equipment reliability, minimize downtime and drive preventive and predictive maintenance, while ensuring compliance with ISO and GMP requirements and managing budgets, contractors and improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline is required.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant manufacturing maintenance experience.
• Solid knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance.
• Experience with ISO and GMP requirements in manufacturing.
• Proven leadership and people-management capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance activities across Subang & Kajang factories, ensuring safe and efficient operations.
• Develop preventive and predictive maintenance plans and monitor execution.
• Lead technicians and contractors to ensure timely breakdown response and repairs.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and GMP.
• Monitor equipment performance and drive continuous improvement to reduce downtime.
• Manage maintenance budget, spare parts inventory and cost control.
• Coordinate equipment installation, modification and commissioning projects.
• Collaborate with Production, QC, Engineering and other departments.
• Ensure statutory inspections and regulatory compliance for machinery and facilities.
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Provide training and guidance to maintenance personnel.

As Maintenance Manager, you will lead the overall maintenance operations across our Subang and Kajang factories, ensuring machinery, utilities and facilities operate safely, reliably and efficiently.

You will be responsible for strengthening equipment reliability, minimizing downtime and driving preventive and predictive maintenance, while ensuring compliance with regulatory, ISO and GMP requirements. The role also oversees maintenance costs, contractors, equipment projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

Working closely with Factory Heads and cross-functional teams, you will provide technical leadership and develop a high-performing maintenance team to support operational excellence, capacity growth and the long-term performance of our manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all maintenance activities of the factories (Subang & Kajang) and overall buildings, ensuring machinery, utilities and facilities operate safely and efficiently.
• Develop preventive and predictive maintenance plans and monitor execution.
• Lead maintenance technicians and contractors to ensure timely breakdown response and repairs.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and GMP requirements.
• Monitor equipment performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
• Manage maintenance budget, spare parts inventory and cost control activities.
• Coordinate equipment installation, modification and commissioning projects.
• Work closely with Production, Warehouse, QC, Engineering and other departments.
• Ensure statutory inspections and regulatory compliance for machinery, utilities, fire protection and safety systems.
• Conduct root cause analysis for equipment failures and implements corrective actions.
• Provide technical guidance and training to maintenance personnel.
• Support annual budgeting, capacity expansion and capital expenditure planning.
• Advises the Factory Heads and other departments on matters relating to the efficient operation of the factory.
• Monitor and maintain up-to-date awareness of company policies, local regulatory requirements—including OSH, Labor, DOE, BOMBA, JKKP, and local authorities - and ISO standards (9001 and 14001).
• Keep a pulse on national labor market trends and emerging manufacturing technologies to help drive organizational excellence.
• Follow and support all safety guidelines and report unsafe conditions.
• Perform other duties that may be assigned by Management from time to time.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Chemistry or another relevant technical discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably with hands‑on exposure to plant maintenance, equipment reliability, utilities and facilities management.
• Sound knowledge and practical understanding of preventive maintenance, breakdown management, root cause analysis and equipment reliability.
• Good knowledge of ISO and GMP requirements, with awareness of applicable safety, environmental and statutory requirements within a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated leadership and people‑management capabilities, with the ability to guide, develop and motivate technical teams.
• Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills, with a practical and structured approach to resolving technical and operational issues.
• Good communication and stakeholder‑management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and engage with contractors and external parties.
• Strong focus on safety, reliability, cost effectiveness and continuous improvement.
