Bursa Malaysia Berhad is seeking a senior leader to develop and commercialise digital asset and tokenisation initiatives, including strategy execution, business case development, stakeholder engagement, and ecosystem development.

The role requires strong capital markets expertise, leadership experience, and proficiency in regulatory and Islamic finance contexts. You will drive innovation and market growth across the exchange’s digital asset programs.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Law, CS or Engineering.
• 10+ years in capital markets or related fields; 5+ years in senior leadership.
• Professional qualifications such as CFA/CA/ACCA/FRM or blockchain/DLT certifications; programme management certs are a plus.
• Islamic finance qualifications are an advantage.

Lead the development and commercialisation of Bursa Malaysia's digital asset and tokenisation initiatives, including strategy execution, business case development, stakeholder engagement, implementation, and ecosystem development to drive innovation and market growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute Bursa Malaysia's digital asset and tokenisation strategy, roadmap, and business plans.
• Identify, assess, and commercialise digital asset use cases, including tokenised securities, funds, digital assets, and distributed ledger technology (DLT) solutions.
• Conduct feasibility studies, business case evaluations, financial analysis, and investment assessments for new initiatives.
• Lead pilot programmes, proof of concepts, regulatory sandbox participation, and transition to production environments.
• Provide advisory support to business units on digital asset adoption, operating models, and transformation initiatives.
• Lead end-to-end implementation of digital asset projects, ensuring effective governance, risk management, and operational readiness.
• Manage vendor selection, RFI/RFP processes, strategic partnerships, and technology provider relationships.
• Collaborate with technology, operations, risk, legal, compliance, and regulatory stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
• Engage regulators, industry participants, and Shariah stakeholders on digital asset frameworks, approvals, and compliance requirements.
• Drive ecosystem development through partnerships with financial institutions, market participants, fintechs, and industry stakeholders.
• Represent Bursa Malaysia in industry forums, working groups, and strategic discussions on digital assets and market infrastructure.
• Build and lead a high-performing team while promoting innovation, digital transformation, and strong governance practices.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Law, Computer Science, Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in capital markets, financial market infrastructure, investment banking, custody or financial technology, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
• Professional qualifications such as CFA, CA/ACCA, FRM, or relevant certifications in blockchain/DLT (e.g. Certified Blockchain Professional), digital assets, or programme management (PMP, PRINCE2, MSP).
• Islamic finance qualifications (e.g. CIFP, Shariah-compliant capital markets certification) are an advantage.
• Regional or international exposure, including participation in industry tokenisation initiatives (e.g. Project Guardian, Project Ensemble, mBridge, Project Agorá or similar), is an advantage.
• Experience working with regulators and navigating new regulatory frameworks, ideally in Malaysia or the region.
• Experience at an exchange, CSD, CCP, global custodian or major bank's digital assets unit is highly desirable.
