Job summary

Bursa Malaysia Berhad is seeking a skilled Communications professional to provide executive support to Group Strategic Communications. You will craft press releases, speeches, and talking points, produce media dashboards, and coordinate content distribution to media and stakeholders.

You will monitor media coverage, liaise with journalists, and support crisis and issues communications while coordinating with internal teams for approvals and record-keeping.

Job description

To provide executive support to Group Strategic Communications (GSC), contributing to the smooth execution and coordination of Media & Public Relations and departmental communications activities, and supporting the effective delivery of GSC priorities.

Media & PR

• Undertake content development across communications materials, including:

  • Researching and writing press releases, speeches, and talking points.

  • Producing dashboards and reports to track media coverage, PR value, and communications performance metrics.

  • Coordinating the timely distribution of approved content to media and relevant stakeholders.

  • Ensuring relevant sections of the corporate website and social media platforms are kept accurate and up to date.

• Supervise and/or undertake daily monitoring of traditional and digital media coverage; collate, analyse and report on Bursa coverage and media analytics and metrics.

• Serve as a primary liaison with media:

  • Responding to media enquiries.

  • Arranging and supporting media interviews.

  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with journalists.

  • Providing media support during routine and time-sensitive situations, including outside office hours when required.

• Provide executive support for PR and media projects that enhance Bursa Malaysia's reputation and thought leadership positioning.

• Support issues and crisis communications activities, including information gathering, media monitoring, and coordination of responses.

• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to facilitate content development, clearance, and approval processes.

• Maintain accurate records of media engagements, coverage reports, and communications materials for reference and reporting purposes.

GSC Executive Support

• Assist in managing GSC-related projects and coordinate projects/activities for the department.

• Coordinate the periodic review and assessment of GSC workflow processes and policies for continuous improvement.

• Act as the department's primary liaison on HR-related matters.

• Assist the Head of GSC with other matters as required.

Requirements

Academic Qualification

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Mass Communications, Marketing, or related disciplines.

Experience

• 3-4 years of relevant experience in media relations, public relations, or corporate communications.

• Experience supporting media engagement, press materials, and communications activities within a corporate, regulatory, or large organizational environment is preferred.

Key Skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia.

• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

• Knowledge of media landscape and newsroom dynamics.

• Familiarity with media monitoring, digital and social media platforms, reputation management, and issues management.
