Job summary

Austin Leisure Sdn Bhd in Malaysia is seeking a hands-on maintenance technician to join the Engineering Team. You will handle carpentry, plumbing, and basic electrical tasks across office and hospitality facilities, carrying out installations, repairs, and routine upkeep with a focus on safety and quality.

You should have 1–2 years of relevant experience, be physically able to perform manual repair work, and be willing to work overtime or on weekends as required.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of working experience in building maintenance.
• Basic knowledge of plumbing, carpentry, and electrical wiring.
• Hands-on, practical, and able to troubleshoot maintenance issues.
• Responsible, reliable, and able to respond promptly to maintenance requests.
• Physically fit and able to carry out manual repair work.
• Willing to work overtime, weekends, or public holidays as per duty roster.
• Candidates without the above qualification but with relevant experience would be considered.

Responsibilities

• Handle carpentry works including maintaining, repairing, installing and/or constructing as required on the job with the Engineering Team
• Build/install/repair/assemble pipes, fittings, and fixtures for water supply, drainage, waste, and sewerage systems
• Perform maintenance and repair works on plumbing systems, including fixing leaks, replacing damaged pipes, and clearing clogged drains
• Install and repair door locks, handles, handrails, and related hardware
• Maintain and service sewerage systems, water lines, and other disposal systems
• Diagnose plumbing and minor electrical issues; clean, maintain, and ensure proper handling of tools and equipment
• Repair, maintain, construct wood structures eg partitions, doors, furniture, and similar items throughout the property
• Perform miscellaneous minor repairs eg tightening loose toilet seats, changing light bulbs and patching holes in walls
• Place orders for items through the Engineering Office for job requirements
• Comply with hotel policies as well as safety and security procedures. Report any maintenance problem, safety hazards, accidents/injuries
