Job summary

RecruitFirst Pte Ltd is seeking a Workshop Manager in Malaysia to lead a workshop team, optimize processes, manage inventory, and ensure safety compliance. You will mentor technicians, coordinate service contracts, and communicate with customers to deliver timely repair and maintenance outcomes.

The role requires a engineering degree with leadership experience, strong problem-solving abilities, and a customer-centric approach to service quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Preferred Mechanical).
• 2 years of leadership roles and 5 years experience in manufacturing environment or engineering/service industry.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with WSH / HSE regulations and practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Good understanding to plan and coordinate the budget for workshop.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Process-driven and able to face challenges to meet customer’s expectation on service and quality.
• Hands-on and willing to roll up the sleeves to support the team.
• Demonstrate high level of customer centricity providing them with best possible solutions and service in a timely manner winning customer confidence.

Responsibilities

• Optimise workshop processes such as scheduling work orders to ensure productivity, utilization and efficiency.
• Analyze data for inventory management to ensure good stock management and turnaround time to improve overall workshop operations and productivity.
• Provide leadership to mentor, coach, motivate and upskill the team and to nurture a culture of excellent customer service.
• Identify areas for process improvement and efficiency enhancement within the workshop operations.
• Enforce safety protocols, conduct safety audits, and promote a safe working environment for all workshop colleagues.
• Ensure consistent engagement and communications between the Workshop Manager and the Technicians.
• Manage relationships with equipment suppliers, negotiate service contracts, and coordinate warranty claims.
• Communicate with customers regarding service and product requests and provide solutions to resolve customers’ feedback.
• Prepare monthly operational and safety reports for management reporting.
• Ensure timely completion of repair and maintenance tasks.
