Job summary

NaVi Consultancy is seeking a Halal Assurance Officer to oversee and maintain the Halal Assurance System in line with JAKIM requirements at our Kajang facility.

You will act as the primary liaison with JAKIM/JAIN for certification, conduct internal halal inspections, ensure all materials are halal-certified, and train production staff to uphold halal integrity.

A Diploma or degree in related food science fields and a valid Halal Executive Certificate are required; fresh graduates welcome.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in a related field as stated.
• Valid Halal Executive Certificate from a Halal Training Provider registered under JAKIM.
• Knowledge of JAKIM halal certification procedures and MS 1500.
• Familiarity with GMP/HACCP principles is an advantage.
• Meticulous, detail-oriented with strong documentation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and maintain the company's Halal Assurance System in compliance with JAKIM requirements
• Act as the primary liaison with JAKIM/JAIN for halal certification applications, renewals, and audits
• Monitor daily production activities to ensure halal integrity is upheld at all times
• Conduct internal halal inspections and identify any non-conformance risks
• Verify that all raw materials, ingredients, and packaging materials are halal-certified and approved
• Ensure proper segregation between halal and non-halal items throughout the production process
• Assist in day-to-day production documentation including batch records, incoming material logs, and process checklists
• Maintain and update halal-related records such as supplier halal certificates, ingredient approval lists, and audit trails
• Coordinate with R&D, QA, and Procurement teams on new product formulations and ingredient sourcing
• Conduct halal awareness briefings and training for production floor staff
• Report halal compliance status to management regularly

Requirements

Must possess a valid Halal Executive Certificate from a Halal Training Provider registered under the Halal Professional Board JAKIM

Knowledge of JAKIM halal certification procedures and Malaysia Halal Standard (MS 1500)

Familiarity with food manufacturing processes and GMP/HACCP principles is an advantage

Meticulous, detail-oriented, and able to maintain accurate documentation

Good communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia and English
