Job summary

The Grade 2 Boilerman position at PERSOL Workforce Solutions Malaysia Sdn Bhd requires daily operation and monitoring of water-tube boilers and related utilities to ensure safe steam generation for production. This is a 6-month contract with potential conversion based on performance, with shift or normal working days.

Eligible candidates should hold a Grade 1 Boilerman Certificate of Competency and a technical/vocational qualification in mechanical/electrical/thermal engineering.

Qualifications

• Must hold Grade 1 Boilerman Certificate of Competency (DOSH Malaysia).
• Diploma or certificate in mechanical/electrical/thermal engineering preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operate water-tube boilers and auxiliary equipment according to approved procedures.
• Monitor boiler operating conditions (steam pressure, temperature, drum level, feedwater quality).
• Ensure continuous steam supply for production and plant utilities.
• Operate and monitor water treatment and filtration systems to maintain feedwater standards.
• Perform routine inspections of boiler systems, pumps, condensate systems, valves and related equipment.
• Record readings and maintain boiler logbooks accurately.
• Identify and troubleshoot equipment abnormalities and alarms.
• Report breakdowns and unsafe conditions to supervisors.
• Support boiler maintenance and minor repairs.
• Maintain good housekeeping in boiler house and utilities areas.
• Comply with safety, environmental and statutory requirements.

Contract Duration : 6 Months Contract under PERSOL (Converted after 6 months based on performance)

Specific Role Purpose
The Grade 2 Boilerman is responsible for the daily operation and monitoring of water-tube boilers and supporting utility systems to ensure safe and uninterrupted steam generation. The role supports routine inspections, water treatment processes, and preventive maintenance activities. This is a new position, and the arrangement is for a 6-months contract and there are high possibilities of being converted.

Working Days : Normal (5.5 days - Monday to Saturday) or Shift (4 Days Work, 3 Days Offs)
Working Hours : Normal (8.00AM - 500PM, 8.00AM - 11:30AM) or Shift (8:00AM/PM - 8:00PM/AM)
Salary : Negotiable up to RM5000
Allowances : Night Shift (RM15 day), Meal Subsidy (RM15-Normal) or (RM25 Shift), Attendance (RM100 - Normal) or (RM200 - Shift)
Entitlements : EPF, SOCSO & EIS, Annual Leave, Medical Leave, Hospitalization Leave, Public Holiday based on client.

• Operate water-tube boilers and auxiliary equipment according to approved operating procedures.Ensure continuous and stable steam supply to support production and plant utility requirements.
• Monitor boiler operating conditions including steam pressure, temperature, drum level, and feedwater quality.
• Ensure continuous steam supply to production processes and facility operations.
• Operate and monitor water treatment and filtration systems to maintain required feedwater standards.
• Perform routine inspections of boiler systems, pumps, condensate systems, valves, and associated equipment.
• Record operational readings and maintain boiler logbooks accurately.
• Assist in identifying and troubleshooting equipment abnormalities, alarms, and process deviations.
• Report equipment breakdowns, unsafe conditions, and operational issues to supervisors promptly.
• Support boiler maintenance activities, inspections, and minor repair works.
• Maintain good housekeeping practices within the boiler house and utility areas.
• Comply with all safety, environmental, and statutory requirements related to boiler operation.

Essential Skills

• Certificate, Diploma, or Technical/Vocational qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Thermal Power Engineering, or related disciplines.
• Possess a valid Grade 1 Boilerman Certificate of Competency issued by DOSH Malaysia.

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of experience operating industrial water-tube boilers.
• Basic understanding of steam generation systems, feedwater treatment, condensate recovery, and boiler safety requirements.
• Experience in manufacturing, chemical, pharmaceutical, or industrial plant environments would be an advantage.
• Forklift certification is an added advantage.
• Willing to work shifts and support plant operational requirements.
• Familiarity with Chemical Industries would be added as advantage.
