Job summary

Edgenta FIRST Sdn Bhd in Kedah is seeking a competent boilerman to operate and maintain boilers safely and efficiently. You will perform preventive and predictive maintenance, maintain logs, and prepare for DOSH/DOE inspections to meet regulatory requirements.

The role includes housekeeping of the boiler room, adherence to the Work Safety Act, and collaboration with HSSE and LEAN initiatives to ensure high service levels and KPI attainment.

Qualifications

• High School Certificate (specialised in Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia).
• 4 to 6 years of experience as boilerman.
• Certified Boilerman Grade 2 issued by DOSH.

Responsibilities

• Operate boiler and equipment daily to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Perform preventive maintenance and assist predictive maintenance to minimize unplanned shutdowns.
• Record data and maintain maintenance logs per regulatory requirements and waste handling process.
• Plan for DOSH/DOE inspections and ensure readiness.
• Keep boiler room clean and compliant with Work Safety Act and HSSE/LEAN programs.
• Troubleshoot breakdowns and carry out maintenance and rectification work.
• Support Stakeholder management and provide excellent service to maintain KPI targets.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Responsible for day-to-day operation of the boiler and its equipment to ensure the boiler is operated in a safe and efficient manner.
• Perform preventive maintenance activities and assist predictive maintenance activities to minimize unplanned shutdowns.
• Key-in and input all data and records related to boiler maintenance activities, documented and updated accordingly as per operational and regulatory requirements. Ensure data and records related to the scheduled waste process are available and updated.
• Plan and prepare for DOSH/DOE regular and ad-hoc inspections of the boiler to meet their requirements.
• Arrange and conduct housekeeping of the boiler room and equipment to be in safe and good condition according to the Work Safety Act and enable a conducive work environment.
• Troubleshoot any breakdown and carry out maintenance and rectification work.
• Ensure all activities comply with Quality, Safety, Health and Environment activities (Quality Assurance Program, Risk Management, Hazard Alert and Recall, Handling Hazardous Equipment) as per contract agreement. Support company programmes and activities such as HSSE and LEAN, e.g., toolbox sessions at frequencies agreed by management.
• Support stakeholder management (external – Contractor Performance Assessment and Customer Satisfaction Survey; internal – headquarters, vendors, etc.) effectively by providing excellent services to maintain a good relationship and achieve high customer satisfaction levels as per KPI set by the Company and the Ministry of Health.
