Job summary

PERSOL Workforce Solutions Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. places a Grade 1 Boilerman at our client site in Tanjung Langsat Pasir Gudang to ensure safe, reliable steam generation for production operations.

The role is a 6-month contract with potential conversion based on performance. The candidate must hold a Grade 1 Boilerman Certificate of Competency and have at least 5 years of experience in boiler operations, preferably in chemical/pharmaceutical/manufacturing settings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level or technical/Vocational qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Thermal Power Engineering.
• Must possess a valid Grade 1 Boilerman Certificate of Competency issued by DOSH Malaysia.
• Minimum 5 years of experience operating industrial water-tube boilers and utility systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor water-tube boilers, deaerators and feedwater pumps.
• Ensure continuous steam supply to support production and utilities.
• Monitor steam pressure, temperature, feedwater flow, and water level.

Contract Duration : 6 Months Contract under PERSOL (Converted after 6 months based on performance)

Specific Role Purpose
The Grade 1 Boilerman is responsible for the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of water-tube boilers and associated utility systems. The role ensures continuous steam generation for production operations, monitors boiler performance, oversees water treatment activities, and supports troubleshooting, maintenance, and regulatory compliance. This is a new position, and the arrangement is for a 6-months contract and there are high possibilities of being converted.

Working Days : Normal (5.5 days – Monday to Saturday) or Shift (4 Days Work, 3 Days Offs)
Working Hours : Normal (8.00AM – 500PM, 8.00AM – 11:30AM) or Shift (8:00AM/PM – 8:00PM/AM)
Salary : Negotiable up to RM8000
Allowances : Night Shift (RM15 day), Meal Subsidy (RM15-Normal) or (RM25-Shift), Attendance (RM100 - Normal) or (RM200 – Shift)
Entitlements : EPF, SOCSO & EIS, Annual Leave, Medical Leave, Hospitalization Leave, Public Holiday based on client.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor water-tube boilers, deaerators, feedwater pumps, water treatment systems, and related auxiliary equipment in accordance with approved operating procedures.
• Ensure continuous and stable steam supply to support production and plant utility requirements.
• Monitor critical operating parameters including steam pressure, temperature, feedwater flow, drum water level, and combustion performance.
• Operate and maintain feedwater treatment systems to ensure boiler water quality complies with operational and statutory requirements.
• Perform routine inspections of boilers, steam distribution systems, condensate recovery systems, water treatment equipment, valves, pumps, and instrumentation.
• Analyze operating data and identify abnormalities that may affect boiler efficiency, reliability, or safety.
• Troubleshoot boiler and utility system faults, investigate alarms, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Coordinate and support boiler shutdowns, inspections, maintenance activities, and statutory examinations.
• Maintain accurate operational logs, water treatment records, maintenance reports, and shift handover documentation.
• Ensure compliance with DOSH regulations, company safety procedures, and boiler operating standards.
• Support energy conservation and continuous improvement initiatives to optimize steam generation efficiency.

Essential Skills

• Certificate, Diploma, or Technical/Vocational qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Thermal Power Engineering, or related disciplines.
• Possess a valid Grade 1 Boilerman Certificate of Competency issued by DOSH Malaysia.

Experience

• Minimum 5 years of experience operating industrial water-tube boilers and utility systems.
• Strong knowledge of boiler operations, steam systems, feedwater treatment, condensate recovery, and boiler safety requirements.
• Experience in chemical, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, power generation, or heavy industrial environments.
• Knowledge of water chemistry management and boiler efficiency optimization is highly preferred.
• Forklift certification would be an added advantage.
• Familiarity with Chemical Industries would be added as advantage.
