Job summary

Private Advertiser seeks a General Manager for Property & Construction in Selangor to lead the division's strategic direction and drive operational excellence. This executive role focuses on delivering large-scale projects on time and within budget while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

You will oversee planning, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation, mentor senior managers, and pursue new business opportunities to expand the portfolio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in construction and project management, with at least 5 years in a senior management or general management capacity.
• PMP or equivalent project management certifications are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic business plans for the property and construction divisions to achieve growth targets and profitability objectives.
• Oversee all aspects of project management, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation to ensure timely and within-budget delivery.
• Lead, mentor and manage a team of project managers, engineers, and construction professionals to foster a culture of excellence and accountability.
• Monitor project performance against key performance indicators and implement corrective actions as necessary.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices across all construction activities.
• Manage stakeholder relationships, including clients, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities.
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities and tender applications to expand the company's portfolio.
• Control costs and manage budgets across multiple projects whilst maintaining quality standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections and quality audits to ensure projects meet contractual and company standards.
• Report on business performance and project progress to senior management and the board.

This is a pivotal executive position that will oversee the strategic direction and operational excellence of our property and construction divisions. Comprehensive knowledge of construction methodologies, safety regulations, and building codes applicable in Malaysia

Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, cost control, and project profitability management

Excellent leadership and people management skills with the ability to inspire and develop high-performing teams

Outstanding communication and stakeholder management capabilities at all organisational levels

Professional certifications in project management, such as PMP or equivalent, are highly desirable

Proficiency in construction management software and MS Office applications

Strong problem-solving abilities and sound business judgement

A commitment to health, safety, and environmental standards in all construction operations
