Job summary

Gutor Electronic Asia Pacific Sdn. Bhd. seeks a Pre-Sales & Tendering Manager based in Malaysia to lead regional tendering activities and develop strategic, high-value quotations.

You will supervise a team of Pre-Sales & Tendering Engineers and coordinate with Sales, Engineering, and Project Management to ensure technically compliant, commercially competitive proposals. The role demands 60% direct tendering and 40% leadership and process improvement, with approximately 30% international travel

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in pre-sales, tendering, proposal engineering, applications engineering, or technical sales within the electrical power industry.
• Minimum 3 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong understanding of industrial UPS systems, battery systems, chargers, inverters, and low-voltage power distribution equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to independently develop complex technical and commercial proposals.
• Strong commercial acumen including costing, pricing strategy, margin management, and risk assessment.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and business systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of strategic, complex, and high-value tenders.
• Review customer specifications, technical requirements, commercial terms, and project risks.
• Support customer clarification meetings, bid reviews, and contract negotiations.
• Review and approve major proposal submissions, technical deviations, and risk assessments.
• Partner with Sales to develop winning strategies for key opportunities.
• Lead, coach, and develop a local team Pre-Sales & Tendering Engineers.
• Establish development plans and provide ongoing technical mentorship.
• Conduct performance reviews and career development discussions.
• Own regional tendering processes, tools, templates, and best practices.
• Drive standardization and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support forecasting, resource planning, and organizational development initiatives.
• Support the Houston sales organization in pursuing opportunities across North and South America.
