Job summary

Kuehne+Nagel in Malaysia is seeking a Global Road Logistics Project & Strategic Business Development Manager to lead the Asia Pacific road logistics network, driving cross-border trucking solutions and customer excellence.

You will collaborate with vendors, expand regional capabilities, oversee P&L and multi-country stakeholders, and advance live tracking using the TMS while ensuring Trade Compliance and secure, regulated transport across borders.

Qualifications

• Over 3 years of senior leadership experience in Road Logistics.
• Strong expertise in cross-border transportation within Asia.
• Experience in regional network development.
• Strong vendor/carrier management capability.
• Experience managing P&L and customer service operations.
• Good knowledge of customs processes and compliance requirements.
• Experience managing multi-country stakeholders.
• Fluent in English (Chinese is a plus).

Responsibilities

• Lead, expand and collaborate to set up the Road Logistics network for cross-border trucking services.
• Review major vendors’ portfolios and engage new vendors to enhance service quality and lanes.
• Support development of live tracking capabilities for cross-border shipments using the TMS.
• Serve as the focal point for Road-related Trade Compliance with local authorities and regional bodies.
• Enhance country capabilities for Secure, DG and Temp-Control to support pharma, aerospace, hi-tech and other verticals including standalone customs brokerage.
• Leverage Kuehne+Nagel’s global network to build multimodal capabilities to integrate Road Logistics as a viable freight mode.
• Review incident/crisis management to ensure robust business continuity for cross-border shipments.]

How You Create Impact

You will be responsible to develop the Road Logistics, Asia Pacific network for various cross-border transportation products in Asia + focus on the revival of registered core Road Logistics products that entail Full-Truck Load, Less-Truck Load, Groupage Consolidation, Specialised Trucking, Project Cargo, Cross-dock, Hub-to-Hub and Customs Brokerage and

• To lead, expand + collaborate to achieve a structured set up of the Road Logistics network to support cross border trucking services.
• To review major vendors’ portfolio and step up engagement to identify new vendors to enhance service offer quality, new lanes and provide optimum service levels.
• To support development of live tracking capabilities for cross border shipments using TMS.
• To be the focal point for Road related Trade Compliance which includes the active collaboration with local country authorities and regional bodies.
• To enhance country capabilities for Secure, DG and Temp-Control to support Pharma, Aerospace, Hi-Tech and other in demand verticals including offering standalone Customs brokerage centrally.
• To tap on Kuehne + Nagel’s global network to build multimodal capabilities to assimilate Road Logistics as a viable freight mode.
• To review incident/crisis management ensuring effective business continuity plans for cross border shipments.
