Job summary

Spruson & Ferguson Asia is seeking a Patent Engineer to protect innovations across Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Informatics, Mechanical Engineering, and Instrumentation. You will assist with filing, searches, translations, and prosecution of patent applications in the Philippines and abroad.

The role emphasizes strong technical writing, attention to detail, and meeting deadlines, with opportunities for growth in a leading Asia-Pacific IP firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical, Informatics, Mechanical or Instrumentation engineering or related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in peer‑reviewed conference/journal papers is a plus.
• Prior patent drafting, prior art search or handling office actions is advantageous.
• Strong technical writing in English with clear, logical expression.

Responsibilities

• Support the team in protecting innovations across multiple engineering domains.
• Handle patent work through the prosecution process, including filings and responses.
• Assist with filing, searches, translations, and office actions for patents in Philippines and abroad.
