Job summary

Meliá Hotels International is seeking an HR Manager to lead recruitment, training and development across the hotel. You will oversee staff terms, welfare, and reward systems while ensuring compliance with labour laws and keeping a strong employer brand in the market.

The role requires a university degree in HR and experience in large hotels or international groups, with fluency in Bahasa Malaysia and English. A Master’s in HRM is advantageous, and the position is based in Malaysia.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Recruit and oversee the hiring process for key positions.
• Provide recruitment data and HR reports to the General Manager and Head Office.
• Develop relationships with local universities to promote employer branding.
• Manage internal communications and timely distribution of information.
• Involve in staffing, terms of employment, absence, redundancies, counselling and welfare.
• Develop and monitor a flexible reward system aligned with market and company values.
• Supervise headcount and plan productivity improvements.
• Conduct annual salary surveys and propose benefits.
• Oversee the design and evaluation of training solutions and in-house programmes.
• Promote a culture of development for high-potential employees.
• Develop and follow up on Development Plans; evaluate progress.
• Manage the Private Medical Insurance scheme information and reporting.
• Prepare and manage budgets for recruitment, training and development.
• Ensure compliance with security, hygiene, and safety regulations.
• Mitigate staffing risks, disputes, union relations, and market challenges.
• Perform other HR tasks as assigned by hotel management.
