Job summary

VAT Vakuumventile AG seeks a Data Engineer – Data Quality and Governance to build and maintain data pipelines, implement data quality frameworks, and deploy a data catalog to empower analytics, AI, and governance across the organization.

You will work with teams across Sales & Operations Planning, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing, HR and IIoT, applying Microsoft Fabric, Purview, Power BI and Power Automate in a hands-on delivery role requiring strong technical skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or related field
• Strong experience in building and maintaining data pipelines, including ingestion, transformation, orchestration, and automation
• Experience with data storage solutions such as data lakes and data warehouses
• Proficiency in SQL for data querying and optimization
• Proficiency in Python, PySpark, or similar languages for data processing
• Knowledge of data governance, data quality frameworks, and compliance
• Familiarity with Microsoft Purview and metadata management
• Ability to implement data lineage, classification, and governance workflows
• Familiarity with Microsoft ecosystem (Fabric, Purview, Power BI, Power Automate) and Azure

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain Data Quality frameworks with rule execution, monitoring, and automation
• Deploy and maintain Data Catalog infrastructure (e.g., Microsoft Purview) including metadata management and lineage
• Develop reusable ETL and governance automation frameworks (RBAC/ABAC)
• Optimize data processing across the data platform and governance tools
• Develop robust and scalable data pipelines for analytics, reporting, and governance
• Integrate data from multiple sources ensuring consistency and compliance
• Design and manage data storage solutions (data lakes and data warehouses) for scalability and performance
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and improve stability
• Explore AI-driven capabilities for cataloging and data quality automation
• Collaborate with analytics engineers, business analysts, and stream leads to deliver governed data solutions
