Job summary

AIS Malaysia is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join our Geotechnical Engineering team. You will carry out geotechnical analyses, design, review site investigations, and provide technical support for infrastructure, industrial, and building projects, working closely with team members.

The role requires interpreting ground investigation reports, lab results, and field data, developing foundation parameters, and performing design calculations for various geotechnical systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with Geotechnical specialization and CGPA 3.5 or higher.
• 2–5 years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience in consultancy or design environments.
• Sound knowledge of soil mechanics, foundation engineering, geotechnical investigations, and analyses.
• Familiarity with relevant codes, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Strong technical report writing, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Good project coordination and time management abilities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Proficiency in geotechnical analysis software (e.g., PLAXIS, GEO5, SLOPE/W) is an added advantage.
• Fresh graduates with strong academic achievements and interest in geotechnical engineering are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Perform geotechnical analyses and designs in line with project requirements and standards.
• Interpret ground investigation reports, lab tests, and field monitoring data.
• Develop geotechnical parameters for foundation and earth-retaining structures.
• Carry out design calculations for shallow/foundation systems, retaining walls, basements, and slope stability.
• Assess settlement, bearing capacity, and soil-structure interaction.
• Conduct geotechnical risk assessments and provide practical mitigation measures.
• Support feasibility studies, concept design, FEED, and construction-stage services.
• Prepare geotechnical reports, specifications, calculations, drawings, and construction documents.
• Provide technical guidance during construction and foundation installation.
