Job summary

APG Geotechnics Sdn. Bhd. in Malaysia is seeking a geotechnical design engineer to prepare drawings and calculations for foundations and structural systems for tender submissions and construction.

You will perform design analyses for foundations and ground improvement, prepare technical reports for load tests, provide technical proposals and remedial solutions, and assist the Contract team on project challenges.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in geotechnical design.
• Proficiency with geotechnical software such as GeoStudio, Plaxis, Tekla or similar.
• Ability to analyse geotechnical software programmes and interpret results.
• Solid understanding of construction methods and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design analysis and calculations for foundations and structural work for tenders and construction.
• Prepare technical reports for load tests and design works.
• Provide technical proposals and remedial solutions for engineering problems.
• Assist Contract team on technical aspects of projects and tenders.
• Collaborate with Operations to resolve technical challenges and ensure design implementation.

Job description

Responsible for providing drawings and calculations for foundations and structural systems which to be used in tender submission and construction process subsequently. He/she shall also need to assist / involve in tender preparation when required.

Responsibilities

Design analysis and calculations for foundations and structural work, e.g.

• Slope stabilisation (Ground Anchors, Soil Nailing, Rock Bolt, Horizontal Drains, Guniting


• Soil Improvement (Jet Grout, PVD, Dynamic Compaction, Vibroflotation, Stone Column)


• Foundation works, (Bored piling, micro piling, RC piling, pilecap & RC footing)

Preparing technical and factual reports for load tests and design works

Providing technical proposals and remedial solutions to resolve engineering problems

Assist/advise Contract team on technical aspects of projects in-hand as well as new tender when required

Collaborate with Operation team to identify and resolve technical challenges. Also, to provide technical guidance and support to the Operation team to ensure the effectiveness of implementation of designs when required

Stay up-to-date with industry regulations, best practices, and emerging technologies to continuously improve the design.

Requirements

Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineeringor equivalent

Minimum3year(s) of relevant experience in geotechnical design

Required Skill(s): Microsoft Office, AutoCAD or any geotechnical design software, e.g. GeoStudio, Plaxis, Tekla.

Ability to analyse geotechnical software programme

Solid understanding and knowledge of construction methods and legal regulations will be an added advantage

Self motivation and able to work independently

Good interpersonal and communication skills as well as a good team player
