MMSB Consult is seeking a senior geotechnical engineer to supervise geotechnical and sub-structure works on major infrastructure projects in Malaysia. You will oversee pile systems, earth retaining structures and slope stabilization, coordinating with clients and authorities.
The role requires 15+ years of geotechnical field experience, PE registration is preferred, and you will be based full-time on site with travel as needed.

Supervise and monitor all geotechnical and sub-structure construction activities to ensure works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, contract requirements and project schedules.
Oversee site implementation of geotechnical works including:
Bored piles, RCD Bored piles, driven piles, injection piles, micro piles and hand-dug caissons.
Earth retaining structures.
Slope stabilization works.
Excavation and temporary works.
Ground improvement works.
Geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring of existing structure.
Review contractor submissions including method statements, shop drawings, material submissions and work procedures.
Monitor construction progress and quality of works to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
Coordinate and liaise with clients, consultants, contractors and relevant authorities on technical and project-related matters.
Attend site meetings and prepare progress reports, inspection records and other technical documentation.
Identify site issues and provide technical recommendations and solutions.
Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental requirements at all times.
Verify completed works and assist in certification and project documentation processes.
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with specialization or significant experience in Geotechnical Engineering from a recognized institution.
Registered with the relevant professional engineering body. Professional Engineer (Ir./PE) qualification will be an added advantage.
Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering and construction supervision.
Proven experience in supervision of geotechnical and foundation works for infrastructure, building or major development projects.
Strong understanding of soil mechanics, foundation systems, retaining structures and geotechnical construction methodologies.
Familiar with relevant engineering codes, standards and local authority requirements.
Experience in reviewing technical documents and contractor submissions.
Good understanding of QA/QC requirements and construction safety practices.
Strong communication, coordination and interpersonal skills.
Good report writing and documentation skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and engineering software/tools relevant to geotechnical works.
Willing to be based full-time at project site and travel as required.
Experience in major infrastructure projects such as highways, rail, MRT/LRT, bridges or large-scale developments.
Familiarity with geotechnical software such as PLAXIS, GeoStudio, Slope/W, AutoCAD or similar tools.
Possession of CIDB-related certifications and site safety certifications.
