Job summary

Coherent Corp. in Ipoh, Malaysia is seeking a shipping and logistics professional for 100% onsite duties. You will coordinate export/import procedures, verify documents, and ensure on-time deliveries while supporting freight negotiations and audits.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in business administration and at least 2 years of experience in shipping/logistics within a multinational manufacturing environment. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent with at least 2 years in shipping/logistics in a manufacturing environment.
• Must be PC literate; Excel and spreadsheets experience required.
• Excellent interpersonal communication and reporting skills.
• Strong logical and analytical thinking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Meet or exceed customer expectations and ensure on-time delivery (OTD 95%).
• Coordinate export/import flow and documentation; monitor shipments with forwarders.
• Handle billing verification and sourcing of freight for larger shipments.
• Assist with audit requests and maintain ISO 9001/14001 awareness.
• Provide support for ad-hoc shipping tasks and internal requests.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Do “Whatever it takes” to meet or exceed our customers' expectations in compliance to OTD 95%.
• Coordinate flow and documentation of export procedures.
• Assist & Support in all shipping import/ export activities which deem necessary.
• Be aware of ISO 9001 & ISO 14001 procedures and policies.
• Project improvement as required.
• Responsible & Oversee Outbound activities such as: -
• Physical Shipment verification (shipment box labels/ shipping documents) and shipment release to forwarder
• Send booking confirmation to nominated forwarder for shipment under Ex-works & FCA/ FOB
• Monitor shipped shipments based on Fedex/ DHL pending list
• Resolve and reply to queries from Courier/ customer/ Forwarders.
• Co-ordinate & Send shipping documents to forwarders/ courier express for custom declaration before cut-off time.
• Coordinate with Inside Sales/ Planners for Customer Special Request (Palletization, Arrival Ship Notice, Oracle Transportation Management System Entry)
• Attend to audit request for retrieval of shipping documents
• Verifying Billing Invoice from forwarders
• Sourcing and Negotiation of Freight for shipment above 250 kgs
• Segregation and Sorting of Approved Custom Form for Filing
• Any other ad-hoc request as directed by superior from time to time.

Education & Experience

• A bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or its equivalents with at least 2 years of relevant work experience in shipping/ logistics in a MNC with high mix high volume manufacturing environment (functional skills)
• Must be PC literate in spreadsheet applications, knowledgeable & experience in warehousing or logistics management will be an added advantage.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills and reporting of information/data.
• Possess logical thinking and analytical thinking skills.
