Job summary

A leading solar company in Petaling Jaya is seeking a Marketing Leadership role to develop and implement strategies for solar energy solutions. The candidate will lead the sales team, ensure compliance with related policies, and mentor staff. The ideal applicant will possess a degree in Marketing or related fields, have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in corporate sales, and be proficient in English and Malay.

Job description

The new role :

  1. Marketing Leadership – Solar Industry
  2. Develop and implement integrated marketing strategies to promote solar energy solutions, including PV systems, BIPV, and solar leasing.
  3. Enhance brand positioning through public relations, digital campaigns, and participation in renewable energy events.
  4. Manage digital marketing initiatives (SEO, SEM, social media) and content development to drive lead generation and customer engagement.
  5. Conduct market intelligence to monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and new market opportunities within Malaysia’s solar sector.
  1. Sales & Business Development
  2. Lead the sales team to achieve revenue goals across various solar segments (commercial, industrial, utility-scale).
  3. Identify, pursue, and secure high-impact business opportunities such as government tenders, corporate PPAs, and solar farm projects.
  4. Establish and grow strategic relationships with developers, EPCs, and financial institutions.
  5. Develop effective pricing models, manage sales pipelines, and lead contract negotiations for solar projects.
  1. Cross-Functional Leadership
  2. Work closely with technical, operations, and finance teams to assess project viability and ensure profitability.
  3. Mentor and lead the marketing and sales teams to foster a results-driven, collaborative work environment.
  4. Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs), adjusting marketing and sales strategies to optimize outcomes.
  1. Regulatory Compliance & Innovation
  2. Ensure marketing and sales practices comply with relevant solar policies and incentives (e.g., NEM, FiT, tax benefits).
  3. Drive product innovation based on market needs, including integration of technologies like energy storage and EV charging.
  1. Reporting & Strategy
  2. Deliver regular reports on sales forecasts, ROI analysis, and market expansion strategies to senior management.

Requirements:

  • University degree in Marketing/Business/Management/Engineering or equivalent
  • Required Languages: English and Malay; proficiency in Mandarin is a plus.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in corporate sales, key accounts, or related fields.
  • Experience in logistics, FMCG, or food and beverage industries is advantageous.
  • Experience in Logistics/Warehouse industries is an advantage.
  • Excellent commercial and communication skills.
  • Proactive and positive approach to customers internally and externally.
  • Strong mathematical/statistical and presentation skills.
  • Highly proficient in MS Office (PowerPoint & Excel).
  • Capable of utilizing Business Intelligence tools.
