Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Management, or related discipline.
• 8–12 years of relevant working experience with several years in managerial/senior leadership role.
• Experience in EV charging, renewable energy, electrical infrastructure, or related industries is strongly preferred.

We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven General Manager to lead and grow our EV charging business in Malaysia. The General Manager will be responsible for the overall performance of the business, including business strategy, revenue growth, key accounts, channel development, project delivery, operations, financial performance, team management, and strategic partnerships. This is a leadership role requiring a strong combination of commercial acumen, operational management, project oversight, stakeholder management, and understanding of the EV charging / electrical infrastructure industry.

Key responsibilities

Lead the overall EV charging business operations and execution of the company's business strategy in Malaysia

Develop and implement annual business plans, revenue targets, operational plans, and market expansion strategies

Identify new market opportunities, strategic partnerships, business models, and potential revenue streams

Monitor industry developments, competitors, government initiatives, regulations, and emerging trends within the EV ecosystem

Drive revenue growth through key accounts, channel partners, strategic partnerships, and new business development

Lead or support major commercial negotiations, tenders, proposals, partnerships, and strategic accounts

Oversee the planning, deployment, operation, and maintenance of EV charging infrastructure

Ensure EV charging projects are delivered according to agreed scope, timeline, budget, quality, and safety requirements

Take responsibility for the overall financial and commercial performance of the business

Lead, manage, and develop the commercial, project, operations, and supporting teams

About you

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Management, or a related discipline

Preferably 8–12 years of relevant working experience, with several years in a managerial or senior leadership capacity

Experience in EV charging, renewable energy, electrical infrastructure, energy, automotive, engineering, technology solutions, or related industries is strongly preferred

Demonstrated experience managing a business unit, department, major projects, or multidisciplinary team

Strong commercial background with experience in business development, key account management, strategic partnerships, or B2B project-based sales

Experience with budgeting, forecasting, cost management, and P&L responsibility is highly preferred

Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams covering commercial, technical, project, and operational functions

Strong understanding of project management and operational processes

Strong negotiation, leadership, decision-making, analytical, and problem-solving skills
