Job summary

DHL Express in Malaysia is seeking a hands-on Gateway Operations Supervisor to lead a rostered shift, ensuring shipments enter and exit the country safely and efficiently. You will oversee warehouse processes, monitor performance, and drive service standards across the operation.

Qualifications

• Diploma or equivalent required or higher.
• Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Valid Driving License and Forklift License (preferred).
• Experience in warehouse supervision is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Supervise a gateway operations team on a rostered shift ensuring shipments enter/exit per procedures.
• Manage warehouse processes to maximize speed and efficiency while meeting service standards.
• Monitor ground handler and warehouse performance and complete reports.
• Coordinate equipment checks for proactive maintenance.
• Plan manning levels to meet productivity targets.
• Evaluate procedures to improve service and cost performance; support quality initiatives.
• Monitor operations to ensure procedures and performance standards are met.
• Enforce shipment security measures and controls.
• Develop a culture of quality, service excellence, flexibility and cost consciousness.
• Identify training needs and career development opportunities for the team.
• Develop KPIs with team members and monitor performance.

YOUR TASKS

• Supervise a gateway operations team on a rostered shift basis ensuring that shipments enter and exit the country in accordance with network procedures in a safe and secure manner


• Manage the warehouse process and ensure that all shipments are processed in the quickest, most efficient manner possible, and transferred to the dedicated movement in accordance with service standards for each process


• Monitor ground handler and warehouse performance and complete all necessary reports


• Regularly coordinate equipment checks to initiate proactive maintenance in cases of potential failure


• Plan and manage the manning levels to attain productivity targets and to meet business requirements


• Evaluates procedures and methods to achieve optimum service and cost performance; participates in Gateway quality policy and initiatives


• Monitor operations to ensure service procedures and performance standards are met


• Enforce the shipment security measures and controls


• Develop a culture of quality, service excellence (for internal customers), flexibility and cost consciousness


• Identify training needs and career development opportunities to drive a high performance team


• Develop KPIs with team members and monitor individual performance.

YOUR PROFILE

• Exhibits an exceptional degree of ingenuity, creativity, resourcefulness and empathy.


• At least Diploma or equivalent and above


• Good Spoken and Written in English and Bahasa Malaysia.


• Possess valid Driving License and Forklift License (Preferably).
