Job summary

Tentacle Tech in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a highly detail-oriented Functional Tester to join a banking-focused project on-site in Kuala Lumpur. The role requires hands-on testing across Internet Banking and other banking applications, with exposure to Agile testing and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop test scripts, test conditions, input test data, and expected results for various tests.
• Develop, update, and maintain testing standards and procedures.
• Execute test scripts and record issues in line with problem management plans.
• Collaborate with the application team to resolve testing issues.
• Participate in release control to ensure solutions meet requirements.
• Validate product fixes and inform the test lead/manager of issues affecting schedule, budget, or quality.

The Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Functional Tester to join a dynamic project within the banking sector, working on-site in Kuala Lumpur. This is a great opportunity for a testing professional with strong banking domain knowledge to contribute to high-impact projects, ensuring quality and reliability across critical applications.

What You'll Do

• Develop test scripts, test conditions, input test data, and expected results for component, assembly, product, performance, user acceptance, and technical architecture tests
• Develop, update, and maintain testing standards and procedures
• Execute test scripts and record problems and issues in line with project problem and issue management plans
• Collaborate with the application team to resolve issues arising from the testing process
• Participate in the release control process to ensure solutions meet business requirements
• Validate product fixes and inform the test lead/manager of any issues affecting schedule, budget, or quality

What We're Looking For

• 4-8 years of relevant testing experience, ideally within the banking sector
• Diploma in Computer Science/IT or related field
• Strong knowledge of banking applications, particularly Internet Banking
• Familiarity with Agile testing and DevOps methodologies
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to document and follow detailed test scripts and defect tracking
• Good communication skills, email etiquette, and the ability to work independently under pressure
