Job summary

Kanry Search is seeking a Business Development Executive (MNC) in Malaysia to drive growth in freight forwarding and logistics. You will identify opportunities, open new markets and build long-term relationships with customers across the region.

You will develop a strong pipeline, tailor freight solutions, and conduct meetings to close opportunities. This role rewards proactive, independent work and collaboration with internal teams, with performance-based incentives.

Qualifications

• Experience in freight forwarding, international logistics or transportation-related services.
• Prior exposure to sales or business development is preferred.
• Good understanding of international freight and logistics processes.
• Knowledge of airfreight and/or sea freight will be an advantage.
• Familiarity with Incoterms and international shipping arrangements is preferred.
• Strong interest and ability in developing new customers rather than focusing solely on account servicing.
• Proactive, resourceful and comfortable approaching new prospects.
• Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
• Able to build relationships with different levels of customer stakeholders.
• Able to work independently while collaborating closely with internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the logistics and freight forwarding market.
• Develop new customers through prospecting, networking, referrals and direct business development activities.
• Build a strong pipeline of potential accounts and convert opportunities into active customers.
• Understand customer requirements and propose suitable logistics and freight solutions.
• Conduct customer meetings, presentations and commercial discussions.
• Prepare quotations, proposals and follow up on potential business opportunities.
• Negotiate commercial terms within approved guidelines.
• Work closely with internal pricing, customer service and operations teams to develop competitive customer solutions.
• Develop strategies to increase market penetration and expand the customer base.
• Maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing customers.
