Job description

Green Cold Press & Food Research Sdn Bhd – Pasir Gudang, Johor

BUILD YOUR FOOD INDUSTRY CAREER THROUGH REAL EXPERIENCE

Green Cold Press & Food Research is looking for two interns for our End-of-year 2026 intake. This is a structured two-year Work-Based Learning placement for students who want practical experience beyond observation and administrative work.

You will join our food research and manufacturing team at Iskandar Halal Park and gain exposure to how food products move from formulation and testing to compliance, production and commercialisation.

Our work includes real-fruit electrolyte concentrates, plant-based meal shakes and thermally processed food products. Interns will participate in actual product-development and manufacturing activities under supervision, with greater responsibility assigned as their competence and confidence grow.

YOUR TWO-YEAR DEVELOPMENT PATHWAY

Months 1-6: Foundation (Allowance 1K)

Learn factory hygiene, food-safety procedures, ingredient preparation, equipment cleaning, production processes, basic quality testing and proper recordkeeping.

Months 7-12: Technical Development (Allowance 1.5K)

Take on more independent responsibilities in production, quality control, R&D trials, traceability and compliance documentation.

Manage assigned projects with less supervision, contribute improvement ideas and support the team in daily operations. Strong performers may be considered for full-time career opportunities after completing the programme.

WHAT YOU WILL DO AND LEARN
  • Assist with ingredient preparation, weighing, mixing, processing, filling and packing.
  • Support product formulation, prototype trials, sensory evaluation and shelf-life monitoring.
  • Conduct and record quality checks such as pH, Brix, salinity, viscosity, temperature and product weighing.
  • Maintain accurate production, quality-control and R&D records.
  • Gain practical exposure by assisting with Halal, HACCP, GMP and MeSTI systems, including documentation, monitoring, internal inspections, corrective actions and audit preparation.
  • Assist with equipment setup, cleaning, sanitation, stock control and general factory organisation.
  • Identify production issues and contribute practical process-improvement ideas.
  • Complete university logbooks, reports and evaluations with support from the company. Suitable Final Year Projects may also be undertaken with GCP, subject to university and company approval.
WHO SHOULD APPLY

This programme is suitable for Diploma or Degree students pursuing:

  • Food Safety and Quality Technology
  • Food Science or Food Technology
  • Halal Industry Management
  • Chemical or Bioprocess Engineering
  • Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering
  • Nutrition or another relevant discipline

The programme is particularly suitable for students undertaking a two-year university Work-Based Learning placement. Students from any recognised institution with an equivalent approved placement structure are welcome to apply.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
  • Available to begin in October 2026 and commit to the full 24-month programme.
  • Placement must be recognised or supported by the applicant’s university.
  • Interested in both hands‑on food production and technical documentation.
  • Responsible, disciplined, punctual and receptive to feedback.
  • Careful with measurements, records and food‑safety procedures.
  • Able to use Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint at a basic level.
  • Food Handler Training, typhoid vaccination or Halal Executive certification is an advantage but is not compulsory when applying.
WHAT TO EXPECT

This is an active, factory-based placement and not a desk‑only internship. Interns will participate in production, equipment cleaning and sanitation as part of normal food‑manufacturing practice.

Applicants should be comfortable standing during production and safely handling ingredients, packaging and materials weighing approximately 15 to 20 kg when required.

WORKING HOURS
  • Monday to Friday: 8:30 am to 5:30 pm
  • Saturday: 8:30 am to 1:00 pm alternate only
  • Paid Malaysian Federal public holidays
BENEFITS
  • Progressive monthly allowance from RM1,000 to RM2,000+
  • SOCSO coverage, subject to applicable requirements.
  • Up to 10 days of annual leave and 10 days of medical leave per year, accrued and administered according to company policy.
  • Structured feedback and scheduled performance reviews.
  • Practical exposure to food production, R&D, quality control and compliance.
  • Company support for university logbooks, evaluations and approved Final Year Projects.
  • Potential consideration for full-time employment after successful completion.
  • Ample free parking within the factory premises.
