Job summary

Jora Malaysia is offering an internship in R&D to assist the team with new product development and improvement, formulation support, and trial production. You will participate in product trials, sensory evaluations, and data collection, gaining exposure to food safety and regulatory requirements.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a Diploma or Bachelor’s in Food Technology/Science or related fields, with basic knowledge of food processing and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Diploma or Bachelor's in related field.
• Basic knowledge of food processing and product development.
• Knowledge of HACCP, GMP, FSSC 22000 and HALAL is a plus.
• Detail-oriented with documentation.
• Willing to perform hands-on trials and sensory evaluation.
• Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.
• Good communication and teamwork.
• Eligible for internship of 3, 4, 6 months or longer.

Responsibilities

• Assist R&D team in new product development and existing product improvement.
• Support product formulation, ingredient preparation and trial production.

• Perform basic sensory evaluation of food products.
• Assist in sampling and testing of raw materials, in-process and finished products.
• Support the preparation and maintenance of R&D documentation, formulations, trial records and reports.
• Assist in collecting and analyzing product and trial data.
• Conduct basic research on ingredients, food products and market trends.
• Assist in troubleshooting product and process issues during product trials.
• Support shelf-life studies and product stability testing.
• Work closely with Production, QA/QC and other relevant departments during product development and trials.
• Participate in R&D projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Gain exposure to relevant food safety, quality and regulatory requirements.

Job Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Food Manufacturing, Food Innovation, Nutrition, Biotechnology, Chemistry or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of food processing, food ingredients and product development is an advantage.
• Knowledge of food safety, HACCP, GMP, FSSC 22000 and HALAL is an added advantage.
• Good attention to detail, especially when handling formulation, testing and documentation.
• Willing to perform hands-on product trials, testing and sensory evaluation.
• Good analytical, problem-solving and observation skills.
• Able to follow SOPs, work instructions and safety requirements.
• Basic computer skills for data entry, documentation and reporting.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Creative, proactive and willing to learn.
• Able to work in a food manufacturing / production environment.
• Available for an internship period of 3 months, 4 months, 6 months or longer.
